THUNDER BAY – Updated – Crimebeat – Thunder Bay Police are advising the public that there may be a red car with tinted windows stalking young women.
A posting over the past 36 hours on Facebook shared on February 28th at 08:50 has now been confirmed by Thunder Bay Police as an active investigation.
Thunder Bay Police reported, “The female was waiting for a school bus at 8:50 a.m. on Market Street by East Avenue when a car pulled up and the male driver rolled down the window and asked if she needed a ride. The female did not respond to him and the vehicle drove away. The youth was shaken up by this event, so she returned home and the police were called”.
The vehicle is described as a small red car with tinted windows. The driver is described as a Caucasian male approximately 30 years of age with blonde hair. There was a male and a female passenger also in the car. The vehicle was last seen heading towards Dawson Road.
Police are advising the public that they should be on the watch.
The social media posting has been views and shared by thousands of concerned people in the community, as well as being posted on Mayor Hobbs’ Facebook page.
The posting states, “Please warn your children that this car is still out there”.
