DRYDEN – Business News – Dryden has completed the sale of its Dryden Municipal Telephone Service (DMTS) landlines. The original sale was authorized by Dryden City Council in October. The deal was completed on January 4 2013.
The asset sale comes as the community has also sold off its wireless service to Tbaytel.
Members of City Council granted final authorization for the transaction on October 3, 2012, and the transition to new ownership has been ongoing from that point. The intent of both Bell Aliant and the City has been to make the transition as seamless as possible. For customers it is business as usual, and should any changes be required, there will be direct, advance communications to customers.
Dryden faces Fiscal Issues
Dryden Council was moved into action over financial issues facing the community. In October, Council unanimously approved offers from Tbaytel and Bell Aliant to purchase assets of DMTS.
Dryden agreed to the sale of DMTS landline and Internet assets to Bell Aliant for $4.5 million. The figures for the sale of the mobility assets to Tbaytel were not made public.
