KENORA – Sarah Campbell announced “Eight lucky individuals had a little extra cash over the holidays thanks to their generous spirit and support of local food banks, as a result of the Support Our Local Economy Food Drive”. The drive was sponsored by the Kenora Rainy-River MPP. With an overwhelming response in all communities Campbell says she was pleased to provide an extra incentive to support those in need while raising awareness of the positive impacts of shopping local during the holiday season.
“The response was overwhelming,” says Campbell. “I was truly touched by the region’s generous spirit and the number of individuals who took the ‘shop local’ message to heart and supported their local communities over the Christmas season.”
Local winners received a $50 Gift Certificate to a local business of their choice, while two Grand Prizes were drawn from all entries for local gift certificates of $200 and $100. Christmas magic may have infected the community of Rainy River, who through an overwhelming response to the drive were able to capture both grand prizes.
