Heading into the New Years celebration, where many people plan a joyful night out, it is important to consider the importance of not drinking and driving. Across the region, reports are that there are still way too many people who are using alcohol at a level that requires a police response. Through the past two weeks, there have been well over 100 calls for service from the Thunder Bay Police Service for alcohol related offences.

On the 22 Dec 2012 at about 06:00AM,  Thunder Bay Police Service officers, fire and paramedics attended at the intersection of Tupper Street and Prospect Ave for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles. Luckily, no one was injured, however one of the drivers, an 18 year old Thunder Bay man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.

Thunder Bay Police would like to take this time to remind people, once again not to drink and drive; Call a cab; call a friend; Just don’t get behind the wheel –  it is not worth it
