MILWAUKEE – Seven-time PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) World Champion Sage Steele Kimzey (Strong City, Oklahoma) earned his first regular-season PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Unleash The Beast victory Sunday afternoon at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee in dramatic, walk-off form, delivering a clutch championship round ride to win PBR Milwaukee and vault to No. 2 in the 2025 World Championship race.
After tying for second in Round 1 in front of a sold-out Saturday night crowd, riding Skippy (Skippy & Linda Johnson/Hookin’ W Ranch) for 89 points, Kimzey overtook the event lead on Sunday, conquering I Hate You (Hookin’ W Ranch) for an unrivaled 88 points to win Round 2.
With the first pick in the championship round, Kimzey, who rides for the Austin Gamblers in the separate PBR Teams league, confidently selected Eyes On Me (Blake Sharp/Hanks).
As Kimzey waited atop the bucking chutes for his final out inside the home of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, he was overtaken for the lead. Andrew Alvidrez (Seminole, Texas) boldly selected reigning YETI PBR World Champion Bull Man Hater (Jane Clark/Gene Owen) and conquered the powerful bovine for a massive 94 points, propelling him to the lead.
The Missouri Thunder’s Alvidrez had punched his ticket to the championship round courtesy of an 84.5-point ride on Cactus Jack (Lari Crane/Gene Owen) in Round 1 and an 86.5-point score atop Washita Red (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company) in Round 2.
Following Alvidrez’s stunning, career-best ride – his first on Man Hater in five attempts – Kimzey needed a score of 88.25 points or more to clinch the victory.
Erupting from the chutes, Kimzey dominated Eyes On Me and delivered just enough to capture the golden finish, awarded 88.25 points, surpassing Alvidrez by a razor thin 0.25 points.
The win marked Kimzey’s first regular-season Unleash The Beast title and second on the elite tour, as he also won the 2024 PBR World Finals. In addition to a check for $48,441.67, Kimzey earned a crucial 140.5 Unleash The Beast points for the PBR Milwaukee win.
Kimzey vaulted from No. 5 to No. 2 in the world, now within 127.25 points of No. 1 Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland, Australia).
Fielder maintained his spot atop the standings by finishing fourth and earning 57 Unleash The Beast points via a 3-for-3 showing of his own.
The Texas Rattler rode Easy Labor (Addi Drury/Nothin’ But Try Ranch) for 86.5 points in Round 1, Bugatti (Phenom Genetics/Drgaonetics/Sankey/Wallace) for 85.25 points in Round 2, and UTZ BesTex Smokestack (Blake Sharp/Christ Utz/Carey Brothers) for 89.75 points in the championship round.
For finishing PBR Milwaukee second, Alvidrez netted 100.5 Unleash The Beast points. Climbing from No. 10 to No. 6 in the 2025 World Championship race, he is now within 279.75 points of top-ranked Fielder.
Felipe Furlan (Sales Oliveira, Brazil) was third, collecting 75 Unleash The Beast points.
The Missouri Thunder competitor earned his spot in the final round after topping Bruised Ego (Crescent City Bucking Bulls/Lari Crane/Gene Owen) for 86 points in Round 1 and Feeds Red River (Blake Sharp/Huff Bulls) for 85.75 points in Round 2.
Furlan then punctuated his time in Wisconsin with a monster score, outlasting Lights Out (Blake Sharp/Henry Wison/Hanks) for 91 points in the final round.
Chasing his first World Championship this May, Furlan rose from No. 31 to No. 25 in the standings.
Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Kaiden Loud (Kaufman, Texas), the final rider to convert on all three of his animal athlete counterparts.
Loud, a member of the Nashville Stampede, conquered Big Red (Blake Sharp) for 81.75 points in Round 1, Wild Card (Blake Sharp/UB Bucking Company) for 85.5 points in Round 2, and Rockville (Blake Sharp/Koe Wetzel/Giovanni/Morris) for 88 points in the championship round.
Leaving Fiserv Forum with 50 Unleash The Beast points, Loud rose two positions in the standings, climbing from No. 25 to No. 23.
In the bull pen, Man Hater bucked supreme, crowned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event. During his trip with Alvidrez, Man Hater was marked an unrivaled 45.75 points.
Additionally, with his 46th consecutive buckoff, dispatching Elizmar Jeremias (Anapu, Brazil) in 2.74 seconds, Magic Potion (K-C Bucking Bulls/Daniels Cattle Co.) moved within two buckoffs of tying Cool Whip (Julian/Staci Addison/D&H/Crooked W) for the all-time PBR buckoff streak.
