OPP Seize Guns, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Cash in Major Drug Trafficking Investigation
Two Toronto residents face 43 charges after OPP seize firearms, fentanyl, meth, and cash in a Sudbury drug bust
SUDBURY, ON – A drug trafficking investigation spanning Sudbury, Parry Sound, and Manitoulin Island has led to the arrest of two Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents, who now face a combined 43 firearm and drug-related charges.
Major Investigation Uncovers Weapons and Drugs
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) launched the investigation in October 2024, targeting illegal drug distribution networks affecting multiple communities.
On January 8, 2025, members of the OPP OCEB, the OPP Provincial Guns and Gang Enforcement Team, OPP Canine Unit, OPP Highway Safety Division, and Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Emergency Response Unit stopped a vehicle believed to be involved in drug trafficking.
Following the arrests, police executed two search warrants at a Toronto residence and storage locker, leading to a significant seizure:
Seized Items:
- Five firearms, including magazines and ammunition
- 850 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
- 750 grams of suspected fentanyl
- 73 grams of suspected cocaine
- 500 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- $100,000 in Canadian currency
- Two prohibited devices and one body armour vest
- Packaging materials for drug distribution
The estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds $200,000.
Arrests and Charges
Anthony Eric DALEY-WILLIAMS, 33, of Toronto
Facing 25 charges under the Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), including:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm (5 counts)
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (5 counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine
He remains in custody and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on February 13, 2025.
Joan Claire GUCE, 33, of Toronto
Facing 18 charges, including:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm (5 counts)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
She has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on February 19, 2025.
