Police Respond to Assault with a Weapon on Junot Avenue

Thunder Bay, ON – January 29, 2025: A violent altercation overnight has left one person seriously injured and another in police custody.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to reports of an assault with a weapon near Junot Avenue and Windsor Street around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29.

Incident Details

🔹 Emergency responders found a male victim with serious injuries and provided first aid before transporting him to the hospital.
🔹 A suspect was located nearby and arrested without incident.

Charges Laid

🔹 Anthony WABOOSE, 19, is charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Failure to Comply with a Release Order

The accused has appeared in court and remains in custody pending a future hearing.
