OPP INVESTIGATING COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 17 NEAR IGNACE
(IGNACE, ON) – Police are currently investigating a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17, west of Ignace.
On the 23rd of January, 2025, shortly after 3:30 a.m., officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a collision involving two commercial motor vehicles (CMV) on Highway 17 west of the township of Ignace.
As a result, Highway 17 is currently closed between Highway 622 and the township of Ignace. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and plan alternative routes. The highway will remain closed until further notice, with updates provided as they become available.
Police appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this time.
