Homeowner’s Attempt to Extinguish Flames Fails

Thunder Bay – NEWS – At approximately 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2025, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to a fire at a detached garage on Blucher Avenue. The homeowner initially attempted to put out the fire but was unable to control the flames.

Fire Crews Respond Swiftly and Contain the Blaze

The first fire crew on the scene acted quickly, using water to bring the fire under control. A total of six Pumper crews, one aerial ladder crew, and the Platoon Chief were dispatched to the incident. Their coordinated efforts ensured that the situation was managed promptly, preventing further damage.

Thankfully, no injuries to civilians or fire personnel were reported. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue would like to remind residents that in any emergency, the first priority should always be personal safety.
