Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision Closes Highway 17A Near Kenora

KENORA, ON – A tragic three-vehicle collision involving commercial motor vehicles has claimed two lives and left Highway 17A near Kenora closed for several hours as police investigate.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kenora Detachment, alongside Kenora Fire Service and Northwest Emergency Medical Services, responded to the incident around 9:00 a.m. on November 25, 2024. The crash occurred on Highway 17A between Beryl Winder Road and Highway 596.

Two drivers involved in the collision were pronounced deceased at the scene. A third driver, who also remained on-site, reported only minor injuries.

The OPP’s North West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is conducting an ongoing investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Kenora OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
