BEARSKIN LAKE, ON – A woman from Bearskin Lake First Nation faces charges after police seized suspected cocaine during a search of a local residence over the weekend.

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, members of the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service’s (NAPS) Intelligence Unit, alongside the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Michikan Road in Bearskin Lake First Nation.
The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking activities at the location.
Seizure and Arrest
During the search, police officers discovered a quantity of suspected cocaine, cash, and other items consistent with drug trafficking. A 45-year-old female suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.
Charges Laid
The woman from Bearskin Lake First Nation has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
She has been released with conditions and is expected to appear in court at a later date. The identity of the accused will be disclosed once charges are formally sworn in before the courts.
