Fire Safety and Outdoor Burning Regulations

Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents to be cautious with outdoor burning. Instead of burning yard waste or woody debris, consider composting or using local landfill services. If burning is necessary, adhere to Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations:

  • Fires should be lit no earlier than two hours before sunset and extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise.
  • Always have the necessary tools and water to control the fire.

For complete guidelines, visit the Ontario Outdoor Burning Regulations webpage.

Drone Safety and Waterbomber Warnings

Flying drones near wildfires is illegal and poses a serious risk to emergency personnel. Keep drones away from active fire zones. Additionally, when waterbombers are approaching a body of water, boaters should move close to the shore to ensure the aircraft can safely scoop water.
