Canadian Armed Forces to conduct Small Boat Exercise this weekend in Thunder Bay, Ontario

Thunder Bay – NEWS – From Saturday, September 21 to Sunday 22, 2024, the public may see an increase in military presence and activity in the vicinity of the Port of Thunder Bay, Amethyst Bay, the Kaministiquia River, and Little Trout Bay, in support of a Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) naval exercise.
The naval exercise will not impact road or water access. Participants will remain respectful of commercial shipping, pleasure craft, local fishing vessels, and other maritime activities. Please be aware that no live ammo will be on site and all activities will remain safe for participants and the public, as well as environmentally-friendly.
This CAF naval exercise will host multiple government departments, including the Canadian Coast Guard, 17 Field Ambulance, and representation from all Naval Reserve Divisions throughout Ontario. There will be over 75 sailors, soldiers, and aviators in attendance performing a variety of activities.
