Toronto Commuters Face Major Disruptions Due to Freight Rail Strike

TORONTO – NEWS – Commuters traveling into Toronto from the west on Thursday may experience significant delays as a historic freight rail strike impacts passenger services. Metrolinx has announced the suspension of all Milton GO train services and a portion of the Hamilton GO train route due to rail-sharing agreements with Canadian Pacific Kansas City.

The Lakeshore West line will now terminate at West Harbour GO, 1.5 kilometers short of the Hamilton GO station. Additionally, some bus schedules have been adjusted to accommodate the disruption.

The labour dispute is impacting rail travel across Canada as well with Prairie grain farmers concerned as the harvest begins.
