Quick Arrest Made Following McIrvine Road Laundromat Theft

FORT FRANCES, ON, July 09, 2024 – A break-in at the McIrvine Road laundromat over the weekend was swiftly resolved due to the presence of well-placed security cameras.

Incident Details

On July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:30 am, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Fort Frances Detachment responded to a break and enter at the laundromat on McIrvine Road. The investigation revealed that the thief accessed a secure area of the business, stealing property and cash. Thanks to the security footage, the suspect was quickly identified and apprehended by officers.


Charges Filed

Chad Parkinson, 38, of Fort Frances, faces several criminal charges:

  • Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Break, enter, and commit an indictable offence
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Parkinson has been released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on September 16, 2024, to answer to these charges.
