Northeast Region
As of early evening on Saturday, July 13, one new wildland fire has been confirmed:
- Sudbury 17 (SUD017): This 0.3-hectare fire is currently not under control and is located 3 kilometers northeast of Grigg Lake.
Currently, there are 14 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. All of these fires are being held in the Cochrane fire management sector, except for one fire in the Sudbury fire management sector that is not under control.
The fire hazard across the Northeast Region is primarily moderate to high. However, areas around Bracebridge, Tweed, and north of Cochrane are experiencing a low fire hazard.

Safety Advisory: No Drone Zone
Flying drones around forest fires is both dangerous and illegal. Drones near forest fires put the lives of pilots, firefighters, and other emergency personnel at risk. Be safe and stay clear of forest fires.
Help Fight Forest Fires: Stay Clear of Waterbombers
When waterbombers approach a body of water, please move close to the shore to allow them to scoop water safely. Waterbombers will not scoop from a lake or river if watercraft pose a safety hazard. Be safe and stay clear of waterbombers.

To report a wildland fire located north of the French and Mattawa rivers, dial 310-FIRE. For fires located south of these rivers, dial 9-1-1.
