Outdoor Burning Safety Reminder

Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services reminds the public to exercise caution when performing any outdoor burning. Instead of burning, consider alternative methods like composting yard waste or using local landfill services. If burning is necessary, ensure compliance with Ontario’s Outdoor Burning Regulations:

  • Fires should be ignited no sooner than two hours before sunset and must be extinguished no later than two hours after sunrise.
  • Always have adequate tools and water available to control the fire at the burn site.
  • Familiarize yourself with the complete set of Outdoor Burning Regulations to ensure safe practices.
