Shop Local Thunder BayTHUNDER BAY – Shop Local – Ready for fresh picked strawberries? Belluz Farms awaits you. Belluz Farms have announced that the local strawberries are ripe almost two weeks earlier than last year’s crop.

“We grow our berries on Raised Beds which, this spring, helped to keep the plants up and away from the wet weather we had’ states the growers.” They’re now in great condition for picking! We have a crew of over 40 local students and adults ready to start harvesting fresh picked berries immediately for the Little Red Barn in town and the Farm store. If you’ve never picked before, the farm staff can teach you how to pick your own produce at the farm. It’s fun,good for you, and can even save you some money! Not to mention the incredible flavour of fresh berries”.

Here is the schedule; Canada Day Weekend: We plan on opening Saturday, June 30 and again on Monday, July 2nd for picking from 9AM to noon with local meats on the BBQ, special strawberry treats and ice cream in our Harvest Café.

Belluz Farms is a 3rd generation farm in the Slate River Valley that grows sustainable fruits and vegetables and employs over 70 local students and adults each summer to produce food for the community.
