Wawa and Region Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued: Will Impact Highway 17

Winter Weather Update

WAWA – WEATHER – As of 5:32 AM EDT on Saturday, March 16, 2024, a winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Wawa and the surrounding regions, stretching along the North Shore of Lake Superior from Thunder Bay to Sault Ste. Marie.

Travellers are urged to exercise caution due to heavy snowfall and reduced visibility, especially in the early hours of the morning. With current temperatures hovering around 0.3°C and winds coming from the south at 14 km/h, the area is experiencing near-zero visibility in some places due to heavy snow.
