SIOUX LOOKOUT – NEWS – In the early hours of December 23, 2023, Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at a Front Street business.
Incident and Investigation The incident, occurring around 2:45 a.m., involved two patrons engaged in a verbal altercation. The situation escalated when one individual, identified as Emmanuel Smith, 26, of Sioux Lookout, allegedly assaulted the other party.
Charges and Custody Smith faces multiple charges, including:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Mischief
- Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order
Following the incident, Smith was detained for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded to Kenora Jail. He is scheduled for a court appearance on December 27, 2023.
