MANCHESTER, N.H. – In front of a raucous Friday night crowd inside SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, Eduardo Aparecido (Gouvelandia, Brazil) and Felipe Furlan (Sales Oliviera, Brazil) rode supreme, winning the opening round of the Unleash The Beast’s PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Manchester.

The opening round of the fourth premier series event of the 2024 season was electric as 14 of the 40 competing riders reached the requisite 8-second whistle.

Aparecido and Furlan posted matching 86.25-point efforts to garner 23 Unleash The Beast points.

Aparecido, who rides for the Arizona Ridge Riders in the separate PBR Teams league, topped Spooky (Blake Sharp), while the Missouri Thunder’s Furlan conquered Sugar Smack (Blake Sharp/Chris Utz/Carey Brothers).

In the early 2024 PBR World Championship standings, Aparecido climbed two spots, from No. 7 to No. 5. He is now within 220 points of No. 1 Cassio Dias (Sao F. de Sales, Brazil). Furlan surged nine positions, from No. 30 to No. 21, climbing within 304.5 points of the top spot.

The Kansas City Outlaws’ Dias bucked off for the first time this season. Fresh off his back-to-back event wins, Dias was no match forCoolio (C-B Bucking Bulls), tossed in a quick 3.66 seconds.

While No. 2 Cody Jesus (Window Rock, Arizona) was unable to capitalize on Dias’s stumble, also failing to make the 8 in Round 1, the duo has a new rider hot on their spurs as Alan de Souza (Taubate, Brazil) tied for sixth to rise from No. 5 to No. 3.

The Nashville Stampede’s Souza rode Gravy (Wigged Out Cattle Co.) for 84.25 points to earn 13 Unleash The Beast points. Ahead of Championship Saturday for PBR Manchester, Souza trails No. 1 Dias by 212.5 points.

Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, three-time PBR World Champion Silvano Alves (Pilar do Sul, Brazil) was third, collecting 17 Unleash The Beast points.

Alves covered Tijuana Two-Step (Blake Sharp/Michael Floyd) with ease, reaching the whistle as the crowd erupted in cheer for his 85.75-point score.

Traveling to the Granite State ranked No. 19 in the world, the Nashville Stampede’s Alves rose to No. 14. He trails No. 1 Dias by 289 points.

Arizona Ridge Rider Jesse Petri (Dublin, Texas) was fourth compliments of his 85.25-point ride atop Sandman (Cornwell Bucking Bulls/Waggoner Bucking Bulls).

The ride, Petri’s third of the season, earned him 16 Unleash The Beast points, propelling him from No. 37 to No. 29 in the world.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Lucas Divino (Nova Crixas, Brazil).

The stalwart member of the Austin Gamblers rode Wooderson (Blake Sharp/UB Buckin’ Company) for 84.5 points to net 15 Unleash The Beast points. He rose from No. 37 to No. 30 in the world.
