DRYDEN – UPDATE – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is actively investigating a death that occurred at a residence on Duke Street in the City of Dryden.
Identification of the Deceased
The individual who passed away has been identified as 42-year-old Michelle Bannon, a resident of Dryden. This was confirmed following a post-mortem examination conducted at the Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex in Toronto.
Ongoing Forensic Investigations
To establish the cause of death, additional forensic testing is scheduled to take place at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto. The results of these tests are awaited to provide further insights into the circumstances surrounding the death.
Public Safety and Investigation Efforts
Authorities have indicated that there is no current threat to public safety in relation to this incident. The investigation is being carried out by the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, Regional Support Team, and Forensic Identification Services. They are working under the guidance of the OPP CIB and in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences.
