THUNDER BAY – LIVING – As the 2024 SnowDay on the Waterfront fast approaches, scheduled for Family Day on February 19, the City of Thunder Bay’s Recreation and Culture Division has exciting news.
Today marks the launch of the annual Call to Artists for Snow Sculpture submissions, a highlight of this cherished winter event.
Exciting Enhancements to This Year’s SnowDay
Louisa Costanzo, the Supervisor of Cultural Development, Community Programming, and Events, shares her enthusiasm: “This year, SnowDay is set to dazzle with new elements and enhancements, including extended evening hours to showcase the stunning light effects. These are part of a larger, immersive public art installation that promises to elevate the experience for all attendees.”

SnowDay on the Waterfront is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of winter, encouraging everyone to embrace the outdoors. The centerpiece of this celebration is the snow sculptures. These artistic marvels, crafted by professional artists, artist-led teams, and various community groups, transform the Waterfront into a winter wonderland. Participants from across the region and beyond are invited to display their creative prowess.
