Admission of Guilt in Death of Alyssa Turnbull
Thunder Bay – News – In a recent court session, Brian Soos, 60, and his son Nick Soos, 27, admitted their roles in the aftermath of Alyssa Turnbull’s death, pleading guilty to committing indignity to her body. This comes following the discovery of Turnbull’s remains near Kaministiquia.
Legal Consequences
The charge, defined under Canada’s Criminal Code, pertains to inappropriate conduct with a corpse. Additional charges of obstruction of justice against the Soos were dropped. The father and son received sentences equivalent to their pre-sentencing custody time, credited as a year each.
Probation and DNA Orders
Following their custody sentences, both were given 18 months of probation and ordered to submit DNA to a national offenders’ database.
