THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay North Stars President David Dubinsky says, “If you haven’t had a chance to watch a North Stars game all season, tonight’s game is the one to be at!” The Thunder Bay International Airport Authority Dudley Hewitt Cup is heading into the home stretch with some simply amazing hockey. Last night’s North Stars win was a fantastic game.
The pace was fast, and the play was furious. The North Stars have battled like real troopers. Last night, in defeating the Wisconsin Wilderness in OT, the team shook a huge monkey off their backs. The Wilderness had the North Stars number for most of the season.
The North Stars are a young team, and last night showed that poise and determination are solid parts of the team’s arsenal.
If there is one component missing at the Dudley Hewitt Cup, it is likely you. Since Tuesday night, at the Fort William Gardens, the crowds have been sparse. Under 2000 fans including out of town fans have enjoyed top-notch live hockey for each game this week.
Each of the North Stars games have been tight fought battles with one goal separating the winner from the loser.
If you figure sitting in a chilly hockey rink isn’t for you, the organizers of the Dudley Hewitt Cup have thought of that too. Dudley’s Den in the Fort William Curling Club offers the game streamed live on the big screens. You can enjoy a cold one and some amazing food all in the comfort of the Den.
