THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A Thunder Bay woman was arrested and charged for impaired driving after a collision on the city’s south side Thursday evening.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Unit were dispatched to the 1100 block of Frederica Street West following reports of a vehicle colliding with a parked car at about 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 23.
When officers arrived, they observed a parked sedan on the south side of Frederica Street West that appeared to have sustained damage to its driver-side. A second sedan was observed idling a short distance away with significant damage to its front end.
A female was observed in the driver’s seat of the idling vehicle.
When officers approached, they observed the driver exhibiting several signs consistent with impairment by alcohol.
The motorist was placed under arrest and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral street.
Police attempted to collect a sample of the motorists breath, but were unsuccessful.
A 55-year-old Thunder Bay woman has been charged with:
• Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
She has since been released from custody with conditions and a future appearance date. The name of the accused is being withheld until it is formally sworn before the courts.
