THUNDER BAY – Sold out! The North Superior Workforce Planning Board, together with the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission are hosting Mining Your Future on February 15th at the Nor’Wester Best Western in Thunder Bay. The two hundred spots for the one day event are now full.

The forum will consist of keynote presentations on three thriving areas of mining in our region: exploration, production, and supply and services businesses. In addition, workshops will be held on topics such as: trades in mining, women in mining, transferable skills, environmental careers in mining, First Nations in mining, and careers in prospecting.
The forum runs from 8:30AM until 4:00PM.

The goals of the conference are endorsed by Thunder Bay Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro, “Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario have already seen large employment growth in the mining industry over the last few years — with more to come. It is important that we continue to highlight the opportunities that exist now and in the future for people soon to enter the workforce, and those already there.”
