When we hear a music track all we can sense as a regular audience is the voice of the vocalist and the rhythm of the song. One of those experts in the music industry is “Pouria Motabean”. An Iranian songwriter, composer, arranger, and singer. Pouria Motabean was born in Tehran on May 3, 1986. Pouria Motabean is a well-known musician in the Persian music industry, and he had worked with so many big names. People like
“Andy Madadian”, “Babak Jahanbakhsh”, “Leila Frouhar”, “Naser Zeinaly” and “Mohammad Reza Golzar”.
After working in a studio as a sound recordist/ sound supervisor, he gradually learned to work with different music composing software and discover his interest in fusion music and classical Iranian verses.
“I always had this desire to help classical music survive, by combining it with modern music. This experience acquainted me with some new instrumentalist friends. Especially Iranian traditional music and this led me to ambient and fusion music”.
In this path, he had some cooperation with many famous Iranian pop music faces in different fields.
Music with low tempo and emotional mood are his favorites and he loves the feeling of sadness in music.
“I like modern and emotional arrangement the most and I think music should be smooth. Although I listen to other genres, and I had produced music in other genres”.
Nowadays Pouria Motabean has taken his career to another level and has started to make some educational content. In this way, he can be much more inspiring for people who want to enter this industry and he can direct them on the right path.
“In these days, besides producing music for other artists, I’m making some educational content; So in this way, I could share my experiences with other people. I have self-study every day and based on my experience in the teaching field I am a successful teacher and I believe transferring my knowledge could extend my creativity and help me to advance my purposes.
In 2016 he released an album called “Natoor”. The main genre in this album is ambient and fusion, Mixed with Persian classic instruments such as “Santur”, “Se tarr”, “Kamanche” and “Tarr”.
“In this Album I used the famous Iranian poet, “Saadi Shirazi” songs. And I found the essence behind the verses was suitable for female voice. So, I used three woman vocalists for this collection” he explained about the album Natoor.
Recently he has started to record a new album. He is the main vocalist in this album but there are other vocalists involved in this project. Also due to his creativity and desire to miss different cultures, he is going to use and mix the traditional music of different spots on earth with his music. Such traditional music of eastern Asia, Africa, and South America. “I’m doing some research about how to use other countries’ traditional instruments and mixing it with my taste of music so I could make a unique atmosphere for this new album”.
He believes that music is connected directly to our souls and some people are aware of that and some don’t. “I believe that there is a tune in everybody’s heart and mind that is worth listening, but we can’t hear them all. So, we have to be thankful of those we can listen; because music is a gate to a man’s heart.”
