Thunder Bay Police Update on Stabbing Incident and Iphone App Arrest

iconsTHUNDER BAY – Crimebeat – The Thunder Bay Police had another busy weekend. Some of their success were aided by an Iphone app on a cellular telephone. A commonly available application on Iphone assisted police this weekend in the arrest of three young persons. The Iphone owner had his phone stolen from his vehicle at a Newcastle Drive location. He used the GPS function on his phone to track the location of the phone. This information was provided to police who were able to locate a stolen vehicle that was being used to assist in break and enter to residences on Theresa Street.

Three young persons were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. The accused were all also charged with possession of stolen property under $5000.00 for items taken in the break and enters. Breach of probation and possession of controlled substance changes have also been laid. All three young persons have been remanded in court until tomorrow morning.

Thunder Bay Police are still actively looking for the fourth young male involved in the stabbing that occurred on January 6th, 2012 in the Red River Road and Junot Avenue area. The three accused already arrested appeared in court today to answer to charges of Robbery with violence, and breach of probation. All three suspects remain in custody.

T.B.P.S reports that the 15 year old victim remains in hospital, and is listed in fair condition. The victims and accused were known to each other.
