Weather - Heat Warning

Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The heat will continue today for most of Western and Northern Ontario. Except for the areas along the James Bay coast, Washaho Cree Nation, Peawanuck and Attawapiskat, there are heat warnings in effect.

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Most of Western and Northern Ontario

Hot and humid conditions will continue today.

Maximum temperatures: 29 to 32 degrees Celsius, with humidex values 36 to 39.

Minimum temperatures: 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Cooler temperatures are expected after the passage of a cold front on Saturday.

Thunder Bay Weather

It is 16 this morning headed to a daytime high of 32. Skies will be sunny for the day. Winds will becoming south 20 km/h this afternoon. The Humidex will make it feel more like 37. UV index 8 or very high.

Tonight will see clear skies with increasing cloudiness after midnight and a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight. There is a risk of a thunderstorm overnight. Wind south 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low overnight of 18.

Sioux Lookout Weather

It is 23 this morning in Sioux Lookout heated for a high of 32 with the Humidex value at 38. Skies will be mainly sunny. The UV index 8 or very high.

Tonight will see increasing cloudiness. The forecast is calling for a few showers beginning this evening. There is a risk of a thunderstorm. Wind becoming south 20 km/h before morning. Low overnight of 19.

Washaho Cree Nation

It is 7 headed to a high of 12 for Washaho Cree Nation today. Cloudy skies with showers at times heavy beginning this morning. There is a risk of a thunderstorm. Local rainfall amounts 10 to 20 mm. Wind east 30 km/h gusting to 50. High 12. UV index 2 or low.

Tonight showers at times heavy ending this evening then cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chance of showers this evening and after midnight. Showers beginning overnight. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight. Local rainfall amounts will be up to 5 mm. Wind southeast 30 km/h. Temperature rising to 16 by morning.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

It is 23 this morning in Dryden, headed to a high of 31. Sunny skies this morning will give way to increasing cloudiness early this afternoon then a few showers. There is a risk of a thunderstorm late this afternoon. Winds becoming south 20 km/h this morning. Humidex will make it feel like 37. UV index 8 or very high.

Tonight rain showers with a risk of a thunderstorm. Local rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm. Wind southeast 20 km/h. Low overnight of 16.
