Thunder Bay – Weather – There is a Weather Advisory in effect for Thunder Bay calling for the possibility of heavy snow starting tonight. There are Snowfall Warnings in effect for areas just to the west of Thunder Bay and to the east along the North Shore of Lake Superior and north to Webequie.

Heavy snow is possible from Wednesday night into Thursday.

Snow is forecast to begin early Wednesday night and then become heavy late Wednesday night into Thursday. 10 cm of new snowfall can be expected, with the heaviest snowfall amounts likely away from the shores of Lake Superior.

Winter travel conditions can be expected and motorists are advised to check the latest forecasts as they become available.

  • Upsala – Raith
  • Cloud Bay – Dorion
  • Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
  • Geraldton – Longlac – Caramat
  • Nakina – Aroland – Pagwa
  • Nipigon – Rossport
  • Webequie

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected. Periods of heavy snow are expected tonight, with rapid snowfall accumulation and poor visibility associated.

Thunder Bay Weather Outlook

It is +7 this morning under mainly cloudy skies. It will cool off through the day, with the temperature falling to +3 later today. Wind becoming north 20 km/h this morning.

Tonight will start with cloudy skies. There will be periods of snow beginning this evening then changing to periods of freezing drizzle or a few flurries before morning. Snowfall amounts of five to ten centimetres are likely. Winds will be northeast 20 km/h becoming light early this evening. Wind will become north 20 gusting to 40 overnight. The low overnight will be -4. Wind chill -8 overnight.

Greenstone – Geraldton Weather

It is +4 to start the morning under cloudy skies in Geraldton. There is a 30 percent chance of snow flurries this afternoon. Winds will become northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 this morning then becoming northeast 20 gusting to 40 late this afternoon. The temperature will fall to -4 this afternoon. Wind chill -10 this afternoon.

Tonight will see cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of snow flurries early this evening. Snow will be at times heavy beginning this evening with occasional drifting snow. Snowfall amounts of five to ten centimetres are forecast. Wind northeast 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low -8. Wind chill -10 this evening and -15 overnight.

Sachigo Lake Weather Outlook

It is -13 this morning in Sachigo Lake. Periods of light snow will be ending this morning then a mix of sun and cloud is forecast. Winds will be up to 15 km/h. High -2. Wind chill -20 this morning and -4 this afternoon.

Tonight will see clear skies. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low -15. Wind chill -9 this evening and -21 overnight.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods Weather Outlook

It is -4 in Kenora to start the day. Skies are cloudy however they will be clearing late this morning. Wind are north at 20 km/h. High for Wednesday will be -2. Wind chill -13 this morning.
