Long-time Radio and former CNN television host Larry King is dead. Larry King, a radio and television talk show legend was hospitalized earlier in January with COVID-19.

The announcement of King’s death was posted on his twitter account.

The Larry King Show, which ran from 1978 to 1994 on radio in the United States became a virtual must listen for millions of people. In Thunder Bay it could be heard often at night on AM radio skipping in from the US.

King followed up that success when he hosted Larry King Live on CNN from 1985 to 2010.

“For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television and digital media Larry’s many thousands of interview awards and global acclaim, stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster,” states Ora Media, who were Kings last employer.

Larry King was 87 years old.

According to ABC News, King was being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center,.

A native son from Brooklyn King ended his CNN reign back in 2012. However he has kept working hosting “Larry King Now” from 2012-20 on Hulu and RT America. King has also hosted a weekly show “Politicking with Larry King”.

King has overcome health problems over the year. These include, in 1987 a major heart attack. A bout with cancer in 2017, and then a stroke in March of 2019.
