Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – Ontario is reporting another 3,945 COVID-19 cases on January 10, 2021. The new number sets a new record for the number of cases.
The data released this morning reports there have been another 61 deaths in Ontario from the virus.
The seven-day average is now setting an unwanted record at 3,546 cases daily.
This breaks down to an average of 170 cases of the virus weekly per 100,000 of population.
The province has been reporting an average of 47.6 deaths from the virus daily over the past week.
There have been 62,308 completed tests with 6.2% positivity rate in Ontario.
Premier Ford and his cabinet have been meeting over the weekend to decide the next steps. On Friday the Premier said that the Case Modelling numbers which will be released on Monday are going to cause “People to fall out of their chairs”.
Premier Ford has said that “Everything is on the table”.
In Western and Northern Ontario, overall despite spikes on Saturday reported by NWHU and TBDHU, we have seen COVID-19 numbers far lower than the rest of Ontario.
The TBDHU reported 17 new cases on Saturday, and 8 more today.
