Thunder Bay – COVID-19 UPDATE – Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) reports 17 new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region.

The current number of active cases is 62.

Of the new cases reported, 12 are from close contact. Two are from travel outside of the region. This morning the TBDHU reported on what it calls a “Low Risk Exposure” to COVID-19 for passengers on a January 7, 2021 Air Canada flight.

Three of the new cases are pending.

16 of the cases are here in Thunder Bay and communities surrounding the city. One of the new cases is in a First Nation Community.

Four cases have been resolved.

There are four individual in hospital and one in the intensive care ward.

Southbridge Roseview reports, “4 active resident cases and 6 active staff cases” as of today.

Today, Ontario is reporting reporting 3,443 new cases of COVID-19.

1,070 new cases are reported in Toronto, 548 in Peel Region, 303 in York Region, 282 in Windsor-Essex County and 179 in Ottawa.
