Thunder Bay – WEATHER – There are no alerts or warnings in effect this morning from Environment Canada for Western or Northern Ontario. The cold spot in Ontario this morning is in Muskrat Dam First Nation at -20.6 c.

However if your plans include travel in the Sault Ste Marie region, there is a weather advisory to take note of, as snow will impact highway travel.

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for this morning.

The snow may be heavy at times with the heaviest snow falling early this morning. Total snowfall amounts of 5 cm are expected over areas near Lake Superior, however, significantly higher amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected inland from Lake Superior and over higher terrain.

Thunder Bay Weather Forecast

Under the shadow of the Sleeping Giant this morning, the skies in Thunder Bay are mainly cloudy and there is a 30 percent chance of flurries this morning. Skies will clear near lunch. The winds will blow northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Today’s high will be -2. The wind chill minus 14 this morning and minus 8 this afternoon.

For tonight, the weather service says to expect a few clouds. Winds northwest 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 10. Wind chill minus 9 this evening and minus 17 overnight.

Sioux Lookout

There will be mainly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries this morning in Sioux Lookout. Expect clearing conditions by this afternoon. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. High minus 5. Wind chill minus 17 this morning and minus 12 this afternoon.

Tonight will see partly cloudy skies. Winds will be northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 11. Wind chill minus 13 this evening and minus 18 overnight.

Red Lake

Mainly cloudy with 30 percent chance of flurries early this morning are in the forecast for Red Lake. Skies will be clearing late this morning. Winds northwest 20 km/h. Today high minus 7. The wind chill minus 19 this morning and minus 14 this afternoon.

Tonight the forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies. Winds will be northwest 20 km/h. Low minus 13. Wind chill minus 14 this evening and minus 20 overnight.
