THUNDER BAY – The ongoing efforts to combat illegal drugs and drug trafficking in Thunder Bay continues. At about 3:00 AM EDT this morning, Thunder Bay Police Service officers were in downtown Fort William on patrol.

They observed a group of five people in the backlane in the 100 block of May Street South and saw what officers thought was a man tossing away what appeared to be a bag of crack cocaine.

Further investigation revealed a male was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, Canadian currency, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

During their investigation, a female who was with the original group of five fled, but was arrested a short time later after a brief foot pursuit and struggle.

Adrian Grant RAVEN, 34, of Thunder Bay is charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

Adrienne FORTIER-HOOPER, 33, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Obstruct Peace Officer and Breach of Probation.

Both appeared in bail court on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. RAVEN was remanded into custody with a future court date, and FORTIER-HOOPER was released with a future court date.
