Witnesses report that a man apparently attacked an elderly woman near the intersection of Cumberland and Water Streets. Police responded, and according to witnesses, the suspect was taken down by tazer.

Police were called to the scene regarding a disturbed 29 year old male resident who was on the 4th floor of Andras Court located at 120 Cumberland Street South.

It is alleged that he stabbed a 73 year old female resident near the entrance of her apartment. It is alleged that he then attacked a male resident of a nearby apartment with an edged weapon. A third victim (female) received minor injuries after a brief struggle with the male. A fourth victim was encountered in a stairwell of the building and was allegedly stabbed.

The male was armed with an edged weapon as he exited the main entrance of 120 Cumberland Street. He was confronted by a Uniform Patrol officer who had just arrived on scene. The accused entered the police cruiser as the officer maintained a safe distance from the armed man. Emergency Task Unit officers arrived on scene and utilized a Tazzer to subdue him. He is now in custody.
