THUNDER BAY – Clara Butikiofer shares some exciting news from Neebing. “The first Neebing Marketplace will be held on Thursday, April 22nd at Blake Hall from 5pm- 8pm. Blake Hall is situated on Blake Hall Rd which is 24kms south of Thunder Bay’s Broadway Ave on Hwy 61. Every Thursday, the Neebing Marketplace will feature local entrepreneurs selling produce, specialized products and creative items. Neebing has been in need of a local market for a number of years to aid in the growth of a Neebing economy, encourage shopping local, create a weekly meeting place and cut the travelling costs of purchasing goods for residents”.

The idea for a Marketplace came together when Neebing residents Graham Saunders and Clara Butikofer were both inspired to put the idea of a Neebing Marketplace into action after a March 2nd Town Hall meeting. Now joined by other entrepreneurs, the event is being launched.

As the first event is on Earth Day, the Bay Credit Union will be giving out free seedlings to everyone stepping through the door. There is no admission, and refreshments will be available. The event also supports Neebing Fire/Rescue Association who will benefit from table rentals, and concession sales.

The organizers encourage Neebing businesses and neighbouring rural businesses to show their interest. For more information contact Graham Saunders weatherw@tbaytel.net or Clara Butikofer at info@norwexsaves.com or 620-2922.
