THUNDER BAY – That crisp new U.S. twenty-dollar bill in your wallet might be a fake. The Economic Crime Unit of the TBPS are investigating the appearance of counterfeit United States twenty dollar bills in Thunder Bay.
All of the bills have the same serial number EL86949832F.
Police report that just over a dozen of these bills have surfaced. In most cases, they have been passed at fast food restaurants in the city and were not detected until deposited in local banks.
