KENORA – OPP Provide Update on Sudden Death

KENORA – Officers with the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit are investigating a death on Tunnel Island in Kenora.

At 12:41 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, the OPP were dispatched to a report of a body located on Tunnel Island. Police attended and confirmed the person was deceased. A post mortem was conducted in Kenora on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

The name of the deceased is 31-year-old Don NECANAPENACE from Asubpeeschoseewagong First Nation (Grassy Narrows First Nation).

The investigation is continuing at this time.
