THUNDER BAY – Helping hands abound at Christmas.
Transit Services and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966 are teaming up to spread goodwill in our community with the 25th Annual Santa Bus Food Drive in support of the Thunder Bay Food Bank. Until Sunday, Dec. 15, the community is invited to drop-off dry goods on any City Transit bus.
The Santa Bus will also be available to receive donations at No Frills Edward Street, Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 12 pm – 8 pm, and Metro Arthur Street, Sunday, December 15, 2019, from 12 pm – 8 pm.
The 2018 Santa Bus campaign collected more than 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and almost $2,800 in cash donations.
Santa Bus, in aid of the Thunder Bay Food Bank, is an opportunity for Transit employees to join the public to bring joy and happiness to others this holiday season.
The Thunder Bay Food Bank has been providing food and supplies to people in need for more than 25 years and now has more than 1,400 clients every month. The need is always greater in the winter and especially over the holidays.
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966 and Transit Services has served the community of Thunder Bay with safe, reliable, economical, and enviro-friendly Transit services for more than 125 years.
