NAPS NETS $48k WORTH OF DRUGS DESTINED FOR NORTHERN FIRST NATION

TIMMINS – On September 29, 2019, the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) Drug Enforcement Unit was assisted by the Ontario Provincial Police South Porcupine Community Street Crime Unit and the Timmins Police Service Drug Unit in the execution of two warrants resulting in the seizure of illegal substances destined for northern First Nation communities.

Police seized various amounts of Cocaine, Hydromorphone, Methamphetamine, Xanax (Alprazolam), and Oxycodone.  The total northern street value of the seized drugs is approximately forty-eight thousand six-hundred ($48,600.00) dollars.

Thirty-eight-year-old Marilyn MICHAUD of Timmins, Ontario was charged with five counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and will next appear in court in Timmins, Ontario on November 12, 2019.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
