KENORA – Officers from the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the downtown area of Kenora on Monday, September 23, 2019, at approximately 2:30 am CDT.
The OPP report that, “a short time later, police located the vehicle and conducted a vehicle stop. Police spoke with the driver of the vehicle and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol. The accused was arrested at the scene and transported for further tests.”
As a result of this investigation, 21-year-old Darius PAHPASAY from Wauzhushk Onigum (Rat Portage) First Nation has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired by alcohol, contrary to Section 320.14 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Operation while Impaired– Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) CC
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the CC
The accused appeared in Kenora bail court on September 23, 2019, to answer to the charges. None of the charges have been proven in court.
