FORT ALBANY – On September 19, 2019, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) Fort Albany Detachment members, assisted by the NAPS Drug Unit members, charged a man and woman in an investigation into drugs being trafficked into the remote northern community of Fort Albany First Nation.
Police seized the following illegal drug substances; Cocaine, Oxycodone, Methamphetamine, and Fentanyl, which held a northern street value of approximately thirty-thousand eight hundred sixteen ($30,816.00) dollars.
Forty-nine (49) year-old Stephanie ETHERINGTON of Timmins, Ontario has been charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.\
Thirty-five (35) year-old Ducastephen FLORESTAL of Laval, Quebec has been charged with four counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Both ETHERINGTON and FLORESTAL have been remanded into custody and will next appear in court on Monday, September 23, 2019, in Timmins, Ontario.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
Fort Albany First Nation is located approximately 525 km north of Timmins, Ontario.
