THUNDER BAY – A weekend assault left a man badly injured in Westfort has Thunder Bay Police seeking help from area residents.
Thunder Bay Police Service has released two images of possible witnesses to the assault which took place in the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 8 between Cheer’s the Village Pub and the 1200 block of Francis Street West.
The witnesses in the images were in the 1200 block of Francis Street West around 2 am and may have information that could assist investigators.
Police ask either if you are, or if you know the identity of the individuals in these images to please call Thunder Bay Police Service at 684-1200.
Police were originally dispatched to the 1200 block of Francis Street West shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 following reports a male had been assaulted.
Police spoke to the victim as paramedics attended to his injuries. He was then transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences for further treatment. His injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.
The victim left Cheers the Village Pub around 12:30 am and was located in front of a Francis Street West residence around 2 a.m.
Investigators are asking residents who may have surveillance footage between those locations to contact police if they believe they may have captured anything that could assist with this investigation.
Thunder Bay residents are also encouraged to contact police if they noticed anything suspicious in the areas in question between the hours of 12:30 and 2 am early on Sunday morning.
