DRYDEN – Dryden Police was busy over the weekend.
On August 1, 2019, the Dryden Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle from a St. Charles Street location. The vehicle (small green, Subaru) was later recovered on August 3, 2019, behind a shed at a Pitt Avenue residence. There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Dryden Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
On August 3, 2019, the Dryden Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle being stolen from a residence located at Green Acre Trailer Park. The vehicle (a red 1999 GMC Sierra) was later reported parked on Davis Street. Witnesses report two young males parking the truck and exiting the passenger side at approximately 01:00 am on August 4, 2019 proceeding towards Van Horne Avenue. There was an additional report of two male youth going through vehicles in the trailer park at approximately 0700 am on August 3, 2019. They are described as 12 to 15 years of age, one was wearing a turquoise sweater, heavyset and the other was of thin build. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Dryden Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
On August 4, 2019, the Dryden Police Service received a report of a stolen vehicle from a Bedworth Road location. Two youth were subsequently observed trying to use credit cards from the stolen vehicle at a local gas bar by an off-duty Dryden Police Service Officer. The two youth were arrested and charged with the following: Theft Over $5000 of a Motor Vehicle, Fraud under $5000, Drive motor vehicle-no licence, Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 x 2. Both youths have been released on a Promise to Appear for a future court date.
