THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service officers remain hard at work trying to stem to crime in our city.

On Tuesday, July 25th, officers with the Uniform Patrol Division were dispatched following reports of a male threatening another male with a knife in the 100 block of Heron Street just before 4 pm.

When police arrived they learned a male who resided in the area was driving into a laneway when he noticed a suspicious male loitering. The man told the suspicious male that if he did not live at the residence then he should leave the laneway.

The suspicious male then pulled out what appeared to be a knife, held it toward the resident and threatened him. The suspicious male then fled the area, heading westbound on Finlayson Street toward McMurray Street.

Officers searched for, but could not locate, the suspicious male. However, as a result of the ongoing investigation officers were able to identify a suspect on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The accused was subsequently located and arrested without incident in the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 2.

Biaggio Joseph DONOVAN, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, and Probation Order Non-Compliance.

He appeared in court Friday morning and was released with a future appearance date.
