THUNDER BAY – A full house of supporters were on hand to for the campaign office opening for Thunder Bay-Superior North Conservative candidate Frank Pullia.

The campaign says, “A further step in the strong challenge by the Conservative Party of Canada to win this Northwestern Ontario riding was undertaken today. The campaign office for Frank Pullia has opened at 581 Red River Road in Thunder Bay. Pullia, formerly a Thunder Bay City Councillor for three terms over 24 years was acclaimed in early May by the riding association as the Conservative candidate for Canada’s 43rd General Election, scheduled for 21 October 2019.

Pullia has been a citizen and community activist in Thunder Bay and Region for forty-seven-years and as a business consultant has worked for and with the industries that form the backbone of our regional economy. With an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Lakehead University and CPA and CMA designations, Pullia states he is keenly aware of the challenges faced by communities in our region and the amazing opportunities yet to be realized.

Pullia is running to bring the same clear sense of direction, ethics, and accountability to the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa that he brought to City Hall in Thunder Bay.

Key priorities for Pullia are as follows:
• Growth jobs and prosperity for the Northwest and Canada as a whole;
• Stronger and safer communities, here in Thunder Bay and throughout the region; and
• Making life more affordable for the average citizen.

“We want to identify new opportunities for Canada as a whole, and in particular, this magnificent region. We want to increase both domestic and foreign investment and ensure workforce readiness, attract qualified newcomers to Canada and Northwestern Ontario and enable growth in a healthy and sustainable way that respects our people and our planet.”

As an environmentalist for many years, Pullia welcomed the Conservative Party of Canada’s Real Plan to Protect Our Environment announced by the Honourable Andrew Scheer on 19 June. This plan focuses on technology, investment and research to combat global climate change, not just taxation. As such, Scheer has also vowed that Canada will participate in measures at home and abroad to reduce greenhouse gasses using Canadian technology and experience to reduce pollution at sources all over the country and the world. Pullia stated that “our experience in North-western Ontario in reducing pollution and improving energy efficiency in industrial and government applications will serve this area well as we all do our part in reducing this country’s and the world’s carbon footprint.”

Pullia said that he is enjoying the campaign so far and loves speaking directly to the people of the riding at the door, at various events and in his everyday life throughout the region.

Although currently a resident of Thunder Bay, Pullia has worked in the past in the communities of Long Lac and Terrace Bay. “I feel very at home in the communities on the North Shore and in the Greenstone area, as some of my great memories of coming to Canada, getting an education and my first job at Kimberly Clark in the woodlands and the mill after graduation come from the period of my life that I spent in those areas.”
