DRYDEN – NEWS – On June 24, 2019, at approximately 3:30 am, Dryden Police observed two youth on Casimir Avenue. They attempted to flee from police but were apprehended after a short foot chase.
They were arrested for the offence of Trespass by Night and upon searching the individuals, police located a number of stolen items. Further investigation led to an additional two young offenders identified as being responsible for numerous thefts from vehicles dating back to the spring of 2019.
The four youth, who cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been referred to the Youth Criminal Justice Program for Theft Under $5000.
The Dryden Police Service is asking anyone who may have been a victim of theft from their vehicles, whether is it was reported or not, to come forward to help identify the recovered property.
Items recovered include:
• Numerous brand name and prescription glasses and sunglasses
• Handheld Radios
• Numerous mini flashlights of various brands
• Binoculars
• Cell phone
• Pocket knives and small tools
• Numerous chargers and cords for various devices
