THUNDER BAY – POLITICS 2.0 –  Bob Herman, a seasoned law enforcement professional with over three decades of service, was acclaimed as the Conservative Party of Canada’s candidate for Thunder Bay–Superior North in the upcoming federal election.

A Career Dedicated to Public Safety

Herman’s extensive career with the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) spanned 32 years, culminating in his role as Chief of Police from 2000 to 2011. During his tenure, he gained substantial experience in criminal investigations, particularly major crimes. Notably, he was the first chief from Thunder Bay to serve as president of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, highlighting his leadership within provincial law enforcement circles.

Following his retirement from TBPS, Herman continued his commitment to public safety by serving as interim deputy police chief and later as interim chief with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service until 2013.

Motivated by concerns over economic policies and public safety, Herman’s decision to enter federal politics stems from a desire to effect change in these critical areas.
